We are once again facing the challenge of supporting our students and school communities as this COVID-19 Pandemic continues to impact all of us. NYSASN continues to advocate for school safety, as we strive to fulfill our mission, ”To advance the practice of school nursing and enhance the educational success of students by promoting quality health services.” We pledge to continue our efforts and surpass our achievements in the future. To accomplish this we need dedicated, insightful leadership that will guide us into the future of our profession.

This year we are pleased to present our candidate for the Executive Committee role of President Elect. We have one candidate for this office. Voting will be done electronically. Candidate for President-Elect

Annette Cobb  has been a nurse for 37 years. She has been a school nurse in the Horseheads Central School District for the past 18 years. She served as a 1:1 nurse, Elementary and currently Middle School. Prior to that she was a substitute in other local district schools, as well as Horseheads. She is a former ICU/ER  and NICU nurse as well as Certified Case Manager. Since the Covid pandemic she has also volunteered much of her time working with  the local Chemung County Public Health Dept -assisting in calls, contract tracing, testing sites and vaccine clinics.

Annette has been the Zone 11 president for the last three years, a zone member for 13 years, and a member of NASN since 2010. She was an EISN-Excellence in School Nursing award winner in 2015. She is also a member of the Horseheads Wellness team, and the Safety Committees.
