Camp Health Consulting – Camp Nurse
Camp Health Consulting is looking for qualified nurses to care for campers and staff during the summer 2019 months (June- August). To be the camp nurse, applicants should feel comfortable providing first aid care for campers and staff, oversee the administration of medications to campers and staff and organize paperwork and maintain file organization. Our nurses work with the camps directing team on a daily basis to assure that the medical care for campers and counselors is exceptional. Camp nurses are expected to appropriately document all camper and staff visit to health center and ensure that the health center is appropriately stocked during their shifts. In addition, camp nurses will be scheduled to work overnight shifts as needed. One of the benefits to working with us is that if you are not certified in the state you are applying for that’s okay. We will assist you in getting your certification so that you can practice in the states we work in.
- Be able to practice in the state you are hired in (RN or RPN)
- Pediatric or camp experience a plus
- Ability to manage health forms and paperwork
- Enjoy working with kids 7-16
- Hard-working, enthusiastic and committed to the safety and well-being of campers
- Adaptable and comfortable interacting positively with other camp staff
- Good communicator with campers, staff and parents
- Ability to make decisions and take initiative
- Knowledge of diabetes, growth hormones and basic allergies in children is an asset

Southern Westchester BOCES – Registered Nurse (School Nurse)
•Coordinates, administers and/or assists in the mandated health screenings of students and/or employees;
•Administers first aide and emergency treatment to students and employees;
•Arranges for safe transportation of sick or injured students or employees to hospital, home, doctor’s or dentist’s office in cases of emergency;
•Orders, inventories and oversees the storage of first aide and related health supplies and equipment;
•Consults with appropriate staff and/or administrators, primary care physicians, parents or guardians concerning a variety of health factors related to non-attendance, communicable disease and other health related issues;
•Prepares and maintain health records and reports as required by state and local authorities.
Qualifications: Valid NYS Registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse required; Possession of a certificate in First Aid and CPR training.
