Earn a Free AED for Your School

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of death on school campuses and #1 killer of student-athletes. School nurses are on the front lines of student health and are critical to a school’s readiness to respond to a cardiac emergency. Parent Heart Watch and the Louis J. Acompora Memorial Foundation support making schools heart safe. Get Charged Up New York! is a program that promotes cardiac preparedness through the installation of AEDs and implementation of Cardiac Emergency Response Plans. New York State school nurses can now apply by February 27 to earn a free AED for their school by participating in Get Charged Up New York!  AEDs with an optional wall cabinet or waterproof pelican case will be awarded by CPR/AED Awareness Week in early June after program goals are achieved at participating schools. Please help us protect young hearts and apply now!
