Call for Nominations

Dear NYSASN Members,

Have you ever considered taking on a leadership role with your professional organization?
The Board of Directors is accepting nominations for the elected office of Treasurer. You
may nominate anyone that you think may be a good candidate for this position, including
yourself. The incoming Treasurer will assume office in January 2023.

NYSASN Bylaws are as follows to qualify for the position:

Only active members with at least one (1) year of membership may hold elective
office.

The Treasurer shall serve for a term of two (2) years and shall be elected in an even year
election.

The Treasurer shall: Article VI – Duties of Officers

a. Keep the full and correct amount of receipts and disbursements of the
organization.
b. Disperse the funds as directed by the Board of Directors and Executive
Committee according to their functions.
c. Serve as chairperson of the Finance Committee.
d. Perform such duties as assigned by the President.

Please send letters of interest to me, Past President, Jacki O’Donnell, at
pastpresident@nysasn.org

The successful candidate for treasurer will have superior organizational skills. The treasurer will attend three Board of Directors meetings per year, and additional committee meetings via zoom. The treasurer is a member of the executive committee, and the chair of the Finance Committee. This is a two-year commitment.

A background in bookkeeping or accounting is very helpful, and experience with Quickbooks would be very desirable. NYSASN is committed to provide training and support in the Quickbooks system for anyone who needs to become familiar with it. The new treasurer will have the support of the entire Board of Directors and the organization’s accountant, so that they can be successful in this position.

We welcome those of you with leadership experience who are looking to expand your career. With
your help, our organization will grow and continue to thrive as the only organization solely
dedicated to School Nursing in New York State.

Sincerely,

Jacquelyn A. O’Donnell, AAS, RN
