NY “Get Smart (Know When Antibiotics Work) Campaign”
The New York State Department of Health/Get Smart video, “Educating Patients About Antibiotic Usage,” gives providers strategies for communicating with patients about why antibiotics aren’t always the answer. The video shows providers how to explain antibiotic resistance, give patients advice on symptomatic relief for viral infections,3 and set up a contingency plan if the patient doesn’t get better in a few days. And it can all be said in just one minute – it’s been timed!
